START/FINISH LOCATION: Ask the office clerk for the Event Walk Box in KROGERS at 101 North MacArthur Blvd at Sandy Lake Road, COPPELL, Texas

START TIMES: 8 am until 3 hours before dusk. Event takes place regardless of weather. Don't walk in inclement weather. Water and restrooms are available at the Start and at Andrew Brown Park.

TRAIL and TRAIL RATING: The trail is on city sidewalks through areas of beautiful homes and canals. The trail is rated #1. It is suitable for wheelchairs. Dogs must be on a leash. Please do not litter.

AWARD: "B" 3" Multicolored patch depicting the Horse and Buggy days of early transportation in the area.

MEMBERSHIP: The STAR TREKKERS is a non-profit organization established in 1990 to promote Volksmarching. The organization is sponsored by the city of Irving Parks and Recreation Dept.

HOW TO GET THERE: From the North, go South on I-35 E and take Exit 444. Go West on Sandy Lake Road. The Krogers is on the Northwest corner of MacArthur Blvd. and Sandy Lake Road.

From the South go North on 1-35 E. Get off at Exit 444. Go west on Sandy Lake Road. The Krogers is on Northwest corner of MacArthur Blvd. and Sandy Lake Road.


Welcome to Irving, Texas, nationally known for the Dallas Cowboys of the NFL and the Dallas Stars of the NHL. We hope that our walks will be enjoyable.

SANCTIONED: All Events are sanctioned by the American Volkssports Association (AVA), a member of the International Sports Association (IVV), and the Texas Volkssports Association (TVA)

IVV CREDIT: Only one Event credit stamp may be entered within a six month period, but you can walk as many times for Distance credit within the sanctioned year. You may walk twice on the same card for distance credit.

REGISTRATION AND FEES: There is no pre-registration. All participants must register and have a Start Card and sign the waiver. Cards, Maps, and Instructions are in the Walk Box which can be obtained from the clerk. Credit only is $3.00. The "B" Award plus credit is $4.00. You may walk for Free, but still require registration and a Start Card. There are no refunds.

AWARDS: Heritage, Coppell, Valley Ranch, and Las Colinas have "B" Awards. Coopers Lake event in east Texas has an "A" Award.

ELIGIBILITY: Persons of all ages are invited to participate. Children, under 12, must be accompanied by an adult. Pets must be on a leash. Water and refreshments are at the Start/Finish. You may want to bring your own water container.

TRAILS: Most events are not suitable for wheelchairs. See information on Walk brochures.
